Sept. 9, Santa Ana Lawn Bowling Club
Santa Ana LBC hosted our Ladies Day, and their hospitality was spectacular. When you drove into their parking lot there were balloons showing you where the stairs were and their men members were taking your bowls up the stairs for you. WOW!! Then they had so many choices of breakfast items and drinks. Due to the extreme heat, they provided lots of bottled water and had umbrellas and misters by the rinks. Lunch was served in their air-conditioned clubhouse and beautifully set up with linens and floral arrangements on the tables. Lunch was a great variety – I can go on and on. Thanks Santa Ana LBC.
Everyone who signed up was notified the heat would be in the high 90s and we still had 39 Ladies from 10 clubs attending this time. (Casta del Sol, The Groves, Hermosa Beach, Holmby Park, Laguna Woods, Laguna Beach, Long Beach, Newport Harbor, Santa Ana and a visitor from Pennsylvania. Thanks to all the Delegates and members who promote Ladies Day, we are very successful. It is wonderful to welcome these Ladies attending for the first time: From Hermosa Beach, Karen Cagle; From Holmby Park, Annette Hamilton; From Newport Harbor, Kathleen Dover; From Santa Ana; Polly Martin and our guest from Frick Park, PA; Michele Lary.
And now for our results of this day’s bowling. We played 8 ends because of the extreme heat.
